Blue Planet Marine’s Dave Paton (MD) and Tim Phillips (GM) recently attended the Reef Resilience Symposium 2024, which was held in Cairns.
The Great Barrier Reef (GBR) faces significant challenges due to global warming; and rising to these challenges requires strong partnerships and innovative solutions. The Symposium provided a timely opportunity and forum for the many organisations involved in resilience-building, protection & restoration across the GBR to share ideas and identify future priorities for a collaborative and multi-faceted approach to current environmental changes.
The BPM team met with representatives from the Reef Restoration & Adaption Program (RRAP), Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), The Reef Authority (GBRA), The Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF), James Cook University (JCU) as well as many attendees from NGO and Traditional Owner (TO) groups. We look forward to working closely with these organisations to help the GBR face climate-based challenges now, and into the future.
